Attach normalized metadata transactions and users
Tags
Tags allow administrators to define name/value pairs that can be attached to transactions and users. Free-form tag entry is not allowed.
Creating tags
To create a tag, navigate to Tags on the left-hand menu. Click + Add Tag.
Tag Name must be unique within your organization. It’s recommended to keep casing consistent, so you don’t have two similar tags like department and Department.
Enabled determines if the tag should be offered when tagging records.
Tag Values should be attached to the tag. There is no limit to the number of tag values, though long lists might discourage users from using the tag correctly.
Editing tags
Tags can be edited and values updated, deleted, or added. Tag associations are managed separately from the name and value strings, so a renamed tag or value will affect all records associated to it.
For example, if a transaction is tagged with robot: johnny5 and then the tag is edited and the name is changed to android and johnny5 is changed to johnny6, the transaction would then show android: johnny6.
Deleting tags
Tags and their values can be deleted. If a value is deleted, records that have the associated value will be un-tagged. If the tag is deleted, records associated with that tag will be un-tagged.
To maintain consistent records, it’s recommended to disable tags instead of deleting them.
